The Hurricane!

I have finally decided to join this century and start my very own blog.  I am not promising anything funny or even anything very interesting.  It just feels like a good way to keep people who are far away updated on everything.

While I didn't live in any direct path of the Hurricane I got to see how devastating a storm it was.  My mom and sister live in Conroe and I went and got Jaclyn from Conroe last Monday and driving into the area was very surreal.  For awhile it was like a ghost town until I got on their street and saw everyone outside starting to try and clean up the trees on their homes and in their yards...I wish I had pictures of how crazy it looked!  On this trip I also took my mom ice and gas and diet coke all things she was having major trouble finding.  We couldn't talk her into coming back up to Dallas with me and Jaclyn so she stayed home with no electricity for the week.  On a side note their house was one of the only ones on the street with no damage to their house or even trees in the yard, for that we are thankful.

Yesterday I took Jaclyn back, well to Buffalo where we met my mom so she is back at home with sporadic electricity and cable.  It was fun having her here.  My grandfather is also here until Thursday due to still having no electricity in Lake Jackson..I know he is so ready to get home.

So even though we were not in the direct path of the storm (we only got rain and some mild wind, because frankly 40 mile hour winds really are not anything here in this area) it still affected me but only in a small way.

With all that said I am going back to work now...so I will keep in touch.
